Doritos Revives Fan-Made Super Bowl Ad Contest for 2025 Big Game

Doritos is once again turning to its fans for creative inspiration, reviving its famed “Crash the Super Bowl” contest for 2025. From 2006 to 2016, this contest allowed fans to submit their own commercials, and many of them went on to become some of the most memorable Super Bowl ads. With millions watching, this opportunity gave fans the chance to shine on advertising’s biggest stage. Now, Doritos is betting on that same magic to make its Super Bowl return next year.

The contest, open until Nov. 11, 2024, invites fans to submit their ad concepts at DoritosCrash.com. Once the submission period closes, a panel of judges will select 25 top entries, one for each year Doritos has advertised in the Super Bowl. The pool will be further narrowed to three finalists in January, and at that point, public voting will open to decide which ad will air during the broadcast on February 9th.

To promote the contest, Doritos is embracing the humor of online critique culture. A series of billboards and social campaigns highlight real criticisms of past Super Bowl commercials, poking fun at themselves in a playful way. These promotions feature past fan-favorite contest winners, such as “Goat 4 Sale” and “Slap,” asking fans if they think they can create something even better.

With a $1 million prize and an all-expenses-paid trip to New Orleans on the line, the contest is not just about bragging rights. It’s a chance for fans to showcase their creativity, capture the attention of millions of viewers, and join a rich history of unforgettable Super Bowl ads. As brands like Skechers and Häagen-Dazs have already secured their spots in the 2025 game, Doritos is once again making waves by letting fans lead the way.
