Macau Casino Revenues Reach Six-Year High in October

Reading Time : 2 minutes

Macau’s casino scene has just marked a remarkable milestone. October’s gross gaming revenue hit around MOP 24 billion, the highest figure since 2019, showing that the territory’s gambling industry is back in full motion after years of turbulence. This surge brought Macau to roughly 91 percent of its pre-pandemic level, a strong sign of ongoing recovery.

The timing of the rebound wasn’t accidental. China’s extended Golden Week, blending the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holidays, drew millions of visitors eager to spend and play. Tourism from the mainland surged, pushing casino floors to their busiest point in years and reigniting the energy that once made Macau the beating heart of global gaming.

Beyond the rush of dice and cards, this rebound tells a larger story about resilience and adaptation. The city’s gaming operators have shifted focus from high-roller junkets toward a more sustainable mass-market audience. That change has helped stabilize revenue and reduced dependency on volatile VIP segments that once dominated the scene.

Still, the climb isn’t complete. October’s performance may be a high point, but Macau’s gaming sector continues to face headwinds—from economic fluctuations to evolving travel trends. Yet, as the city’s neon lights shine once more and tables fill with eager players, it’s clear that Macau has regained its momentum, one spin at a time.
