Giant inflatables set to parade across Hong Kong’s harbour

Reading Time : 2 minutes

This autumn, Hong Kong will see its iconic Victoria Harbour transformed into a playful stage as beloved characters take to the water in grand inflatable form. Doraemon, Snoopy, Elmo, Grimace, and Labubu will all float across the skyline, creating a spectacle that blends pop culture nostalgia with the city’s vibrant waterfront atmosphere.

The event, organized by AllRightsReserved, is being billed as the world’s first large-scale water parade of its kind. From October 25 to November 1, spectators will be able to view the massive inflatables on display off Tamar Park in Admiralty. The highlight will be on November 1, when the characters take part in the official water parade.

Each figure has been carefully selected for its global resonance, from Japanese manga icons to Western cartoon legends. The playful mix of Doraemon, Snoopy, Sesame Street’s Elmo, McDonald’s Grimace, and the new cult favorite Labubu offers a cultural mash-up that speaks to the international identity of Hong Kong itself.

The show is expected to attract large crowds, both locally and from abroad, turning the harbour front into a cultural tourism hotspot. Beyond sheer entertainment, the water parade reflects Hong Kong’s strategy of positioning itself as a global cultural hub, where east and west merge not only in business and lifestyle, but also in art and imagination.
