The cruise industry is about to enter a new era with a lineup of massive ships launching in 2025, each designed to push the limits of size, entertainment, and technology. Royal Caribbean’s Star of the Seas leads the pack, boasting six record-breaking water slides, seven pools, and a futuristic AquaDome that hosts aerial shows and Broadway-style performances. It’s expected to carry up to 7,600 guests and will debut in August.
Disney is also stepping into new waters with Disney Adventure, its first ship to be based outside the United States. Launching from Singapore in December, it will carry 6,000 passengers and offer a full Disney experience at sea, tailored to Asian markets. With themed dining, immersive shows, and a strong focus on families, it marks a big expansion for Disney Cruise Line.
MSC World America enters service in April, bringing 6,764 passengers aboard a ship powered by liquefied natural gas. Alongside seven pools and multiple theaters, it also makes sustainability a priority. Princess Cruises adds its own twist with Star Princess, launching in fall 2025. This sleek Sphere-class vessel is also LNG-powered and includes all the upscale features you’d expect from Princess.
Each of these ships reflects a shift in cruise culture toward floating cities packed with attractions that rival land-based resorts. From eco-conscious design to jaw-dropping leisure options, the cruise experience in 2025 promises something for everyone—from thrill-seekers to families to luxury travelers.
